THE EXPERIENCE TO SEE THINGS THROUGH. SOME OF OUR FAVORITE PROJECTS...

Partnering with production personnel who want to automate key areas of their plants, SolVIS offers you the kind of people you actually enjoy talking to and working with, an impressive background in automation and machine vision systems and the ability to deliver complex solutions typically in under five months.

3D ROOM MONITORING SYSTEM

Problem: A 3D sterioscopic camera system needed to be created that allowed the user to place it and setup user defined zones that would send a notification if something went into those areas.

Solution: Using an inexpensive multi-spectral stereo-scopic  machine vision system and some killer imaging processing techniques any user is able to setup exclusion zones and be notified immediatly. Check out our service page

AIRCRAFT GLASS THERMAL UNIFORMITY INSPECTION

Problem: Pilots need to see well and a fogged up window just won't do. Inspecting cockpit glass for a uniform heating was a long and arduous process.

Solution: SolVIS created a thermal imaging system using infrared cameras to accurately and precisely measure the consistency of the glass heating. Solution accommodated a variety of glass sizes and interfaced into the production line while inspection time was as fast as you can say "cheese". Check virtically integrated page

COCKPIT GLASS INSPECTION

Problem: Ensuring pilots get a distortion free view takes many long hours of manual inspection. SolVIS was asked to speed up this inspection process while improving the accuracy of the inspection process.

Solution: Created an automated machine vision inspection system using multiple elaborate algorithms and an articulating camera boom system that accurately and instantly measured the distortion of a wide variety of shapes and sizes of cockpit glass. Check out our Macin vision page

COLOR CONTACT LENS INSPECTION

Problem: Color contact lenses are extremely popular; the customer needed an accurate way to inspect every single color contact lens to the same standard as its clear lens.

Solution: Developed an innovative lighting and camera system coupled with sophisticated algorithms to highlight the defects and increase yield.

ALGORITHM IMPROVEMENT YIELDS BIG RESULTS

Problem: Considering hundreds of millions of contact lenses are inspected with very sophisticated machine vision systems, the manufacturer recognized every 1/10% improvement to the accuracy of the imaging algorithms would yield huge gains.

Solution: Using advanced custom imaging algorithms, yield was improved 7%, helping the customer to realize significantly more gains than even thought possible.

FIRST EVER AUTOMATED COTTON INSPECTION SYSTEM

Problem: Every single bale of cotton is sampled twice in a highly labor intensive and tedious process. Compounding the problem is that the skilled labor force is only required during harvesting times and new workers must be rigorously trained.

Solution: A sophisticated machine vision system was developed to detect and classify cotton grades and classify the various types of contamination. In conjunction with a sophisticated automated sample preparation system, cotton sample classifications are now able to be fully automated.

WORLDS THINNEST PCB THERMAL PRINTER

Problem: Circuit board labels are very expensive and were always pre-printed in sequential order, but when a bad placement occurred, the sequencing was lost. Manufacturers had to keep detailed records to identify what happened to that missing label.

Solution: An innovative, and very thin, thermal printer product line was developed to print labels at the point of picking/placement. The need for pre-printed labeles was eliminated and manufacturers on all types of circuit board pick and place machines benefited.

REMOTE CAR SMOG INSPECTIONS? YOU BET!

Problem: Cutting edge automatic smog detection system needed to supplement its NASA inspired system with an array of smart sensors that would detect speed, vehicle profile, license plate recognition, triggering and to provide a scene image.

Solution: SolVIS created and integrated a robust sensor array comprised of lasers speed detectors, licences plate readers and a vehicle profiling system, along with a high resolution scene camera. The solution integrated flawlessly and integrated with a multitude of state and local jursidictions.

UNIQUE GLASS CONVEYOR FOR BACK LIGHTING

Problem: What do you do when the best way to image a special package is via powerful back illumination on a moving conveyor?

Solution: Created the industry's first conveyor made of glass. By conveying product on top of glass, powerful multi-spectral lighting could be applied through the glass conveyor, thereby illuminating the product from the back side so an amazing image could be obtained.
