Machine Vision Engineer

Overview

Engineering company is looking for an engineer to design, program, simulate and test automated machinery, including machine vision and image processing with advanced algorithms. The industries served are manufacturing, food processing and packaging, medical and pharmaceutical. Responsible for working with and programming PLCs, automated inspection cameras and vision sensors, lighting, motion control and other aspects of industrial automation; responsible for design specifications and documentation, customer support and training.

Responsibilities:

Design and develop system hardware and software for automated control of processes.
Design and develop system hardware and software for automated inspection of product quality
using machine vision and image processing.

Program PCs and/or PLCs for automation.
Support and improve existing customer automation systems.
Support deployment at customers / training / documentation.
On-going support and gradual improvement over the life-cycle of an automation system.
Overseeing some projects/customers cradle-to-grave.


Requirements:

BS in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering, Computer Engineering or Computer Science.
MUST HAVE-Solid understanding of computer programming and software development.
MUST HAVE-Ability to program algorithms using C++, C# or C.
Ability to create basic graphical user interfaces (GUI, HMI or MMI) for operator control.
Knowledge of image processing concepts and algorithms.
1+ years of relevant engineering experience or relevant coursework.
Good Project Management skills.
Ability to work independently. Ability to troubleshoot equipment problems and perform complex system tests.
